The curious case of Benjamin Button

While slumdog millionaire was well told, the curious case of benjamin button is a marvellous show that everyone should see. A bit too long and melancholic for some, i nevertheless loved it to death because of the way it tickles our mind to interpret the themes of life.

I think the whole idea of telling the story backwards of a man growing younger is to emphasize the fleetingness of life. With all it’s mellow undertones, the story tells us that it does not really matter if you grow old and die or grow young and die; our lives are not defined by our age, but by the experiences that we’ve gained and the people that we’ve touched. The ripples in the fabric of our lives are what allows us to feel the texture of each of our moments – and that ultimately defines us.

Forgive Brad Pitt for acting like a wooden dork for most parts of the show, maybe he’s trying to act detached as he missed out playing with real kids. However Cate Blanchett and Tilda Swinton really shone in their roles. Go watch it !
